In group therapy, several patients with a similar clinical picture are treated together. In the group, we try to address and treat the shared complaint, such as depression, using therapeutic techniques and also by encouraging participants to share their experiences. It is important to note that everyone is welcome to participate actively, but not required to do so. A group session usually lasts 100 minutes and takes place once a week.
The costs for therapy sessions are usually covered by statutory health insurance. For this purpose, it is first checked in the initial consultation before therapy and in the following four mandatory probatory sessions whether there is an indication for behavioral therapy. If this is the case, a consultation report is requested from your general practitioner (or specialist) for the clarification of medical causes and possible contraindications for psychotherapy. Then, the therapy is requested from the health insurance company.
Insured persons with private health insurance must clarify in advance with their insurance company whether and with what contingent psychotherapy is covered in their contract. Contingents vary greatly from insurance company to insurance company. The costs for the sessions are based on the fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP). For a 50-minute session, the 2.3-fold rate is billed.
Self-payers receive a monthly invoice for the sessions. The costs here also follow the GOP. For a 50-minute session, the 2.3-fold rate is billed.
